【七年级英语小作文科普类】In our daily life, we often see many things that we don’t understand. For example, why do leaves change color in autumn? Why does the sky look blue? These questions are all related to science. Today, I want to talk about a simple scientific fact — how plants make their own food.
Plants are very important for us. They provide oxygen and food. But how do they get their food? Unlike humans and animals, plants can make their own food through a process called photosynthesis. This happens in their leaves.
Photosynthesis needs sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide. The green part of the plant, called chlorophyll, helps absorb sunlight. Then, the plant takes water from the soil through its roots and carbon dioxide from the air through tiny holes on the leaves. With the help of sunlight, the plant changes these into sugar and oxygen. The sugar is used for growth, and the oxygen is released into the air.
This process is very important because it provides oxygen for us to breathe and food for the whole ecosystem. Without plants, life on Earth would not be possible.
In short, photosynthesis is a wonderful natural process. It shows how amazing nature is. As students, we should learn more about science and try to protect our environment. Only in this way can we live a better life with nature.
