Moreover, it can also promote economic development by improving the efficiency of goods transportation and facilitating business activities.

On the other hand, this approach has several drawbacks. First, building more roads often leads to increased car usage, which in turn aggravates traffic congestion. This is known as the "induced demand" phenomenon, where more roads encourage more vehicles on the road, ultimately leading to the same or even worse traffic problems. Second, the cost of constructing and maintaining additional roads is extremely high, which may not be feasible for many cities with limited budgets.
